it’s expensive because there’s a recycling fee, just like there’s a trash fee, so that’s more money there. and it costs money to properly dispose of certain materials.
i remember coming across this website that wanted $40 to properly dispose of your cell phone batteries or ipod batteries. i think they just throw them in the trash anyway.

When recycling it cost more money to actually reuse the material than to make new ones but think about it even though it cost more your not killing any trees or the fact that if you throw away plastic it’s harmful because it takes forever to decompose

Well companies know a lot of people are concerned about our environment and want to go green. So they take advantage of this opportunity to sell things that help the environment and make them expensive so they can make more of a profit of it.

Because it’s new. Anytime something new is brought out, the costs are way higher than they should be. Once it becomes more commonplace, then more will build the right way, make things the green way, so that manufacturing costs will come down.

Look at the new bulbs. When first came out, they were $15 bucks each!! Now you get 6 for $5.

Once more of the industry begins making green things, whether cleaners or light bulbs or hydrogen cars, the cost and thusly the price will come down. that’s what capitalism does.

It’s a scam. Marketers know that people want to help the environment, so they make green products more expensive to make more money because they care about green in their pocket more than how green the planet it. Really smart… but you can make your own green products for a fraction of the price for their products… and they smell better. Like, that green bug spray makes the entire house smell horrible. They saw that the nectar in the flowers they use is used to repel the bugs. It works, but it also repels people.

ppl are going green because they have fallen for al gore’s big ole global warming scam. there is no man-made global warming and pp need to get over themselves already about all this gw bull hockey.
but hey, if they wanna go green, then fine. its a personal choice to do it but dont critize me when i dont do it myself cuz i dont believe in the whole gw thing.

Some green things won’t really help and are an advertisement scheme …

BUT other things (such as updated appliances) are more expensive up front but will save money in the long run due to efficiency.

Just research whatever you are considering to make sure it is worth it.

the CF light bulbs are a great investment, they last forever and my power bills have gone down a bit!

It’s considered a fad and therefore people are trying to capitalize on it. If you do it correctly however it will save money over the long run. You also get fake green solutions like some cars which are suppose to be good for the environment but actually hurt them. Like the prius.

the biggest reson for taking your money is to spend it for RENEWABLE energy…. that sometime can cost alot… a small percent of our countries energy is made by windmills… they can cost anywere from 1.2 Mil.- 2.2 Mil…. i think about 13% of US’s energy is windmil energy the rest is oil, coal and lots of other unrenewable energy…. some say it is renewable but oil takes thousands of years for the earth to make more….

there are several serveys that aslo say that you dont need to spend money to save the earth…. the biggest problem is polution to the earth… if every person in the US planted a tree our air polution would return to a considerable amount of polution…. so there are ways of spending lots of money and there are ways to spend little money…. i think everyone should atleast do there share and do what they are capible of doing.

don’t worry about going green this is a fad. It will go away when they realize that climate change is not caused by man.
