I have a 93 Nissan Altima. I have read different things about this. One site says do in place cleaning using a solvent another site say to remove them then clean them in a special machine. The final site says to just replace them. I go to two mechanics that we trust. We were going to get a new fuel injector but the it started working after I gunned the car. This normal mechanic told me not replace (He already ordered the part). He said since it working you do not need to replace them.

This other mechanic I go to. Say he does fuel injector cleaning by flushing ethanol through the injectors. They do disconnect the fuel line. It take them about 20 minutes.

Since my first mechanic said not to replace them. Should I have them cleaned or not?

add a bottle chevron techron to the fuel drive out a tank this is a great product, also keep you fuel tank as full as possible this prevents water from condensing in the tank if the vehicle is operating ok, a in tank ijector cleaner periodicaly won;t hurt

You can first use carb and choke cleaner first and spray about a half of a can straight into the intake and have the car running at this time with a little more accelerator than idle but not much, and then I would get a bottle of Lucas fuel injector cleaner and put it in the fuel tank. Lucas is one of the better products on the market in my opinion. When you put in the injector cleaner have it at a half a tank and let it go under a quarter before you fill up. Other than that always keep more than a half tank (to keep the fuel pump working best and to keep out condensation in tank). If the solution does not work wait for the injector to fail and then replace.

Your car probly runs worse when its hot right? If it does your coil in the injector is bad. These injectors are prone to coil faluire. They have a saturated coil and it breaks down when injector cleaner is used. If you want a proper fix, replace the bad injector. The reason your car misses when hot is because the coil is shorting out causing the injector not to spray at the right time for combustion. Cleaning the injector will have no effect if the coil is bad. A new injector will run you about $140.00, Go to this web site I found they sell these injectors for $39.99 and they are like new with a 1 year warranty.
